ParentNextStep is a service of Northwoods Ventures LLC. These terms are the agreement between you and Northwoods Ventures LLC ("we", "us") when you use the ParentNextStep website. By using the site you agree to them.
1. What the site is, and isn't
ParentNextStep helps families compare kinds of care for an aging parent: a care matcher, medical alert prices, and Medicare's public ratings for nursing homes and home health agencies.
We aren't a medical provider, and nothing on ParentNextStep is medical, legal or financial advice. Suggestions from the care matcher are a starting point, not an assessment; a doctor can help you judge what care is needed. In an emergency, call 911.
Prices are from each company's website on the date shown and can change; confirm the final price before you buy. Ratings, inspection results and other facility details come from Medicare as published, and may be out of date or incomplete. We aren't affiliated with Medicare or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
2. Our partners and links
Our care advisor button takes you to Caring.com, an independent company that provides its advisor service on its own website and under its own terms. Medical alert companies, care providers and other sites we link to are independent too. A link or a match isn't an endorsement, and we aren't responsible for their products, services or advice. We may be paid when you buy or request a call through our links; see why it's free.
3. Who can use it
ParentNextStep is for adults 18 and older.
4. Our content and how you may use it
Our text, design, comparisons and code belong to Northwoods Ventures LLC. Medicare's data is public. You may quote a short passage with a link back to the page and share our pages. You may not copy the site in bulk, scrape it, or republish substantial parts of it without our written permission.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use ParentNextStep to break the law, interfere with or overload the site, scrape it, or misrepresent our content. We may limit or end access for any of these.
6. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
THE SITE, AND EVERYTHING ON IT, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PRICES, RATINGS AND OTHER INFORMATION MAY BE WRONG OR OUT OF DATE. YOU USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, NORTHWOODS VENTURES LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, INCOME, OR DATA, ARISING FROM THE SITE, ANYTHING ON IT, OR ANY THIRD PARTY YOU REACH THROUGH IT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). Some places do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.
7. Changes
We may change these terms. The effective date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it. See also our Privacy Policy.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, to whose jurisdiction you consent.
