Home health agencies by state

Medicare rates the 12,460 home health agencies it certifies on the quality of patient care and on what patients say in a survey. Pick a state to compare agencies city by city.

Home health or home care? Medicare-certified home health agencies provide skilled care a doctor orders, like nursing and physical therapy, usually for a few weeks after an illness or hospital stay. Medicare pays for it when your parent qualifies. Everyday help with bathing, meals or company is private home care, which Medicare doesn't cover; find help at home or use the care matcher below.

How Medicare rates home health agencies

The quality of patient care rating, from 1 to 5 stars in half stars, summarizes how often an agency's patients started care on time and got better at things like walking, getting in and out of bed, bathing and breathing. The patient survey rating comes from patients' own answers about their care. Agencies that serve few patients may not have a rating yet.

Need everyday help, not skilled care?

Medicare home health is skilled care a doctor orders. For help with bathing, meals, medications or company, private home care is the next step. Answer a few questions and a free advisor shares local agencies and prices.
